We are proud to announce that TAQA Water Solutions has been awarded the prestigious “Municipal Project of the Year” at the Global Water Awards 2026 for the successful upgrade of the Saadiyat Sewage Treatment Plant 2 (STP2) on Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi.
The STP2 upgrade project introduced advanced Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) technology to enhance the plant’s treatment capabilities and support the growing needs of Saadiyat Island. The upgraded facility now delivers high-quality recycled water that meets the Department of Energy’s stringent compliance standards, enabling sustainable reuse for landscaping, district cooling, and other non-potable applications.
This achievement reflects the dedication, expertise, and collaboration of our employees, partners, and contractors who contributed to the project’s success. Their commitment has strengthened the resilience and sustainability of critical water infrastructure in Abu Dhabi.
